2025 Barn Tour

Come spend a day in the splendor of the Carolina Foothills countryside during the peak spring blossoming season touring five unique horse barns. The Sixth Annual Tryon Hounds Barn Tour is a one-day, self-guided driving tour on Saturday, May 10 from 10-4. Each barn, along with the talented horses that live there, has its own story to tell . Local artists will be displaying and selling their work at each barn. An annual Tryon Hounds tradition, this is a wonderfully fun and interesting family affair!

General admission tickets ($50 for adults, $25 for juniors 12 and under) are available for purchase online here. Tickets will also be available for purchase on the day of the event at each barn location.  All proceeds benefit the Tryon Hounds.

Upon checking in at their first barn (and purchasing tickets if not purchased ahead of time online), participants will receive a wristband, a map and a handout containing barn descriptions. Participants may drive to each location in any order for a tour of the barns. (See barn addresses below.) Please be aware that this is an outdoor activity that may involve walking on uneven ground. No dogs allowed please.

2025 Artists

Kristen Mode - The inspiration and style from this young artist come from her deep connection with the Appalachian Mountains and the healing energy they provide. From the river’s music, the warm sun embrace, bird chatter, the new growth of spring or the last frost of winter, it all resonates within her work.

Mary Walker - Mary Walker is a painter and printmaker who started her working career in NYC as a high school math teacher. While there, she studied with Isaac Soyer at the Art Students League, during which time she decided to devote her life to painting.

Phil Garrett - My work is informed by nature, a kind of mythical nature. The power of storms, the spiritual quality of the elements, the beauty, grace and ferocity of plants and animals…something greater than myself, something I can’t comprehend. Painting and making monotypes is my search  for the mystery within the subject, within myself.

Tracey Bergrud - My work is a reflection of the metaphorical realm that exists just next to our lives  at any and every moment. Messages, communication, a living relationship, are all happening between ourselves and our environment, both close in proximity and to the furthest reaches that you can imagine. In a world where little is sacred anymore, I find a solace in honoring the sentience of all beings through my art.
